Levy Funding
The apprenticeship levy is a government initiative that requires large organisations to invest in apprenticeships. By contributing to the levy, employers can access funds to support the training and development of apprentices, thus incentivising the growth of apprenticeship programmes within their organisations. The Apprenticeship Levy is collected from any employer in the UK that has a wage bill of more than £3 million per year. If your business has a wage bill under this amount, you do not have to pay the levy, however, you may be able to benefit from funding.
If you are a levy paying business, your organisation will receive government funds for your chosen Apprenticeship Training Programme. This funding comes through the Apprenticeship Service.
If you are a non-levy paying business, your organisation is required to pay 5% towards the cost of any Apprenticeship Training Programmes you undertake. However, the remaining 95% of costs (up to the funding band maximum) will be covered by the government. These funds go directly to the training provider.

"Tack TMI offer both the Level 3 Facilities Supervisor and Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeships at NLaG, that suit the Trust needs. The programmes are not only bespoke to meet the needs of the Trust but the team also work alongside myself to devise local programmes for each of the qualifications offered. The tutors have a large knowledge base for the qualifications they are delivering and the department also offered additional training to NLaG staff to support the apprenticeships and individual learning needs including onsite and virtual delivery. We were allocated a designated Manager who I have maintained a strong working relationship and who also ensures high levels of customer service. Thank you Tack TMI for your continuous dedication and support! "
.
"I have worked closely with Tack TMI for a little over 2 years now, they are very knowledgeable and supportive with our Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship. I have no hesitation in recommending them as an apprenticeship provider. "
.
"The best thing about my apprenticeship must be the doors of opportunity that have been opened to me just because I am an apprentice. It has allowed me to get a good footing onto the steppingstones of building my career. I have learned so much technically, professionally, and that will only continue to increase as time draws on"
.
"The work I have done so far on the apprenticeship has been very beneficial to my role and has provided me with a good understanding of management theory and practice. I have been able to use knowledge and skills gained from the apprenticeship and implement them into my everyday role and activities.
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are employer and government-created, work-based programmes designed for industry-specific roles. They are available for people aged 16 and over; there is no restriction on the upper age limit, as long as the person enrolled is employed in an actual job. The apprentice may be an existing employee that requires further training, or a new hire: they should be employed within a suitable job role for a minimum of 30 hours per week and must spend at least 20% of their contracted working hours on off-the-job training. Apprenticeships incorporate qualifications from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) to Level 7 (Master's equivalent).
Why consider an apprenticeship training programme?
Apprenticeships blend practical, on-the-job learning with theoretical knowledge, offering a unique pathway to gain industry-recognised qualifications while earning a wage. They lead to enhanced career prospects and provide valuable hands-on experience in real work environments.
Who is eligible for an apprenticeship training programme?
Individuals aged 16 and over, with no upper age limit, who are employed in a suitable job role for a minimum of 30 hours per week, can undertake apprenticeships. Both new hires and existing employees are eligible.
Who pays for apprenticeship training?
Apprenticeship training costs are typically shared between the employer and the government. The government provides funding for training, while employers cover wages and any additional costs. Financial incentives or grants may also be available.
